LOUIS VUITTON vintage Monogram Kelly was first released around 1892 for Grace Kelly, the wife of the Prince Rainier of Monaco (at the same time with releasing of HERMES;s Kelly ?! Need to do a more serious research before claiming in public (so sorry for this unsure information).

The Kelly bag has been known as  Sac a main de Voyage, which was designed by Paris-based, high fashion luxury goods manufacturing by many different luxury fashion brands like HERMES, CHANEL, included LOUIS VUITTON.  It has been re-designed for several times  before it turned to be popular, and later on was named as after the American actress and Monegraque princess GRACE KELLY.
